Reminiscent of early 2000s Warped Tour-era bands such as Saosin, Taking Back Sunday, and Chiodos, you would think Relate. has been around since the early Warped Tour years, but in reality they’re a new act to be reckoned with on the music scene. On their new single “Sludge”, Relate. brings a raw aggression into play with an emotional energy to deliver a track full of twists and turns. Frontman Duncan Slack’s vocals on this track cut through the mix with an intensity that has you feeling a spectrum of emotions throughout its 3 minute runtime. And let’s not forget about the incredible drum performance from Diego Valenzuela on this track, as he manages to tell a story through his playing and keeps the energy consistent throughout the song while also keeping it interesting. With a song like “Sludge” it is no wonder that Relate. continues to grow their audiences across the country and they will be a name to remember in the coming years, mark my words.
